We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Supervisor to join our traffic control team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, and supporting field teams in delivering safe and efficient traffic control services.

This role requires a hands-on safety professional who is comfortable working in active roadway environments, conducting site inspections, coaching employees, investigating incidents, and partnering with the Operations Manager to continuously improve safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct regular field safety inspections at traffic control worksites to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Provide safety leadership, coaching, and guidance to traffic control personnel.
- Monitor traffic control setups and practices to ensure safe work procedures are followed.
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to prevent incidents and injuries.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Perform incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations; prepare reports and recommend preventative measures.
- Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees.
- Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, training records, and compliance reports.
- Work with field supervisors to address safety concerns and promote accountability.
- Assist with audits, client safety requirements, and regulatory inspections.
- Stay current with changes in workplace health and safety legislation, traffic control standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Experience





- 3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within traffic control, construction, roadwork, utilities, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Experience conducting workplace inspections, investigations, and safety training.
- Knowledge of traffic control operations, traffic management plans, and roadside hazards is an asset.
- Ability to work independently while building positive relationships with field teams.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors and visiting active worksites in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Preferred Certifications

- Traffic control certification is required.
- Health and Safety training certifications are preferred.
- Industry experience preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Experience with safety management systems and reporting software is an asset.
