Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators to support various mechanical construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, safety protocols, and efficient operation to ensure project success. Candidates with experience in trenching, blue print reading and other construction-related equipment are highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects in a dynamic environment, contributing to the development of infrastructure and commercial properties. Candidates that are interested in learning the plumbing trade will be given preference.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators trenching for sanitary and storm drainage
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Assist with pipe installation
- Follow project plans and specifications to execute tasks accurately and efficiently
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate operations and meet project deadlines
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment usage for reporting purposes
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing basic maintenance
- Ability to operate additional construction equipment
- Ground disturbance and safe excavation
- Solid understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures
