Communications Assistant – temporary full time up to 13 months

Location: Gateway Community Health Centre, Tweed with travel within the community.

Schedule: 7.5-hour shifts

Join Our Team

Gateway Community Health Centre is seeking a creative and organized Communications Assistant to support internal and external communications, community engagement, and promotional initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, this role helps raise awareness of our services, supports recruitment efforts, and promotes the impact of our work in the community.

Key Responsibilities

Create content for websites, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials.

Write media releases, success stories, staff profiles, and organizational updates.

Support media relations, public announcements, and community events.

Maintain website content and social media calendars.

Track communications metrics and prepare reports.

Assist with internal communications and stakeholder engagement activities.

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

Minimum two years of relevant communications experience.

Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.





Experience with social media, website content management, and Microsoft Office.

Canva or Adobe Creative Suite experience is an asset.
