Crunch Time Basketball is seeking passionate, energetic, and reliable coaches to lead our competitive Rep (Ignite) teams during the upcoming season.

We're looking for coaches who are committed to developing young athletes both on and off the court. If you believe in teaching fundamentals, building confidence, creating positive relationships, and helping players reach their full potential, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

- Plan and lead 2 team practices per week (approximately 2 hours each)
- Coach games in:
- Ontario Basketball League (OBL)
- Ontario Basketball Association (OBA) tournaments
- Ontario Cup
- Attend approximately 1–2 tournament weekends per month
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and supportive team environment
- Communicate professionally with players, parents, and program staff
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, and player development

Season

September through May

Compensation

Compensation is based on your Ontario Basketball coaching certification level:

- $25/hour – Not yet certified
- $30/hour – Level 1 Certified
- $35/hour – Level 2 Certified

Tournament and game-day coaching is compensated at your applicable hourly rate.

Coaching Certification

Applicants who are not currently certified are welcome to apply.

Successful candidates must be willing to work toward and obtain Ontario Basketball coaching certifications during the season. Crunch Time Basketball supports coach development and encourages ongoing education.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:





- Basketball playing and/or coaching experience
- Experience working with youth athletes (2 years rep or high school coaching)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to motivate, teach, and inspire young athletes

I have one suggestion that I think will help you attract better applicants: pay for tournaments by the day rather than strictly by the hour. Most rep coaches compare programs based on what they earn for a weekend tournament. For example, you could state:

- Practices: Paid hourly based on certification.
- Tournament/Game Days: Paid based on hours worked at the applicable coaching rate
