Children’s Centre Thunder Bay works together with families, caregivers and a community of partners to make a real difference in the quality of life of children and youth. We are an accredited, not-for-profit organization providing treatment and support services for children and youth, from birth to 18 years, who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, developmental or social difficulties. The Centre is currently seeking to fill the following positions:

CHILD & YOUTH WORKER
NUMEROUS TEMPORARY PART POSITIONS
APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR IN DURATION

UP TO 30 HOURS PER WEEK - Must be available for day and night shifts Monday - Friday

SALARY $23.63- $28.75 PER HOUR
15% IN LIEU OF ADVANTAGES

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Child & Youth Worker carries out duties as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within various programs at the Children’s Centre Thunder Bay. The Child & Youth Worker is responsible for providing assessment of the strengths and needs of youth, as well as evaluating the response to intervention and treatment. The Child & Youth Worker shall ensure that the rights of the youth and family are respected and addressed in accordance with legislation and Centre standards, policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Required




The Child and Youth Worker (CYW) position requires:
 A Child and Youth Worker degree/diploma from a recognized and accredited university or college
 Experience in children’s mental health or related field of practice which may include residential, school-based and/or home-based work
 Knowledge of the range of theories and practices applicable to the children’s mental health field
 Knowledge and experience in working with families and children who require mental health assessment and treatment
 Current First Aid Certification
 A valid Ontario Driver’s License
