Insurance Defence Legal Assistant - #5158

Our client, a full service downtown law firm is looking for a junior to intermediate legal assistant. You will be joining a great team with an exceptional corporate culture.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Opening and closing files
- Organizing and filing both paper and electronic documents
- Reviewing incoming correspondence and preparing responses
- Editing legal documents under the direction of lawyers/paralegals
- Calendar management, including scheduling appointments, trials, examination for discoveries, and experts
- Assisting with trial preparation
- Preparing and updating Lists of Documents
- Performing other administrative responsibilities from file opening to closing

Qualifications:

- Must have at least 3 - 5 years of related work experience, preferably in insurance defence.




- A graduate of a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program (or other higher education qualification which is equivalent)
- A team player who can work independently and take initiative
- Solid working knowledge of court rules and procedures
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of work under strict deadlines
- Technological proficiency in Microsoft office applications, as well as an ability to learn new software programs quickly.

Salary 60-75K
