SUMMARY

$52,000 compensation is comprised of both and annual salary and weekly gratuities

The Alo Food Group is hiring a Sous Chef for Alobar Downtown. The Sous Chef directly manages all kitchen personnel with responsibility for day to day kitchen operations, mentoring peers, and any respective disciplinary actions. They will be responsible for managing their team and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities while working in partnership with the Chef de Cuisine and General Manager.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

3+ years of previous experience in a high volume restaurant in a management position. Proficient leadership skills in managing staff, cultivating a positive and secure work environment, while offering mentorship to the team. Previous experience and understanding of optimal food, labor, and operational costs is beneficial.

CORE FOCUS & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee monthly inventories of food.



Control food waste and set appropriate par levels for production and daily inventory.
- Select and develop recipes. Standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality.
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards.
- Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Conduct a pre-shift meeting with staff and review all information pertinent to the day’s business.
- Ensure all employees are fully trained in their job functions and in menu training.
- Expedite and support line staff as business demands.
- Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests
