GIP is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team immediately. We are seeking a motivated individual to maintain and repair our fleet of specialized foundation drilling equipment supporting projects throughout the Greater Vancouver area.
A Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal certification is preferred; however, experienced non-Red Seal mechanics are encouraged to apply.
Compensation
$48.00–$60.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Location
- Based out of Delta, BC
- Field position supporting projects across the Greater Vancouver region
- Monday to Friday schedule
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy foundation and construction equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues.
- Respond to emergency field repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Support field crews with in office troubleshooting and technical expertise.
- Maintain accurate service records and parts inventory.
- Work closely with operations and project teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction or foundation equipment.
- Experience with BAUER & Klemm foundation equipment is considered a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems, and onboard diagnostics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently in field environments.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
