We are looking for a Day Shift (6:00am - 2:00pm) or Afternoon Shift (1:45pm-9:45pm) Front-end Loader Operator / Excavator Operator to join our Composting team in Cannington, ON. This position will assist the team to meet production targets while respecting quality, safety and all related production standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Using a Cat 930K Front-end Loader to "Flip" soil rows until material is fully composted.
- Using a Cat 322 Excavator to Shred Compost Material
- Laying down/removing new rows as needed.
- Using a stacker to blend soils for production.
- Taking soil temperatures daily and providing feedback to Production Superintendent.
- Routine maintenance of equipment including grease and checking fluid levels
- Perform pre-start equipment inspection and report deficiencies to supervisor for correction as required
- Demonstrated ability to use equipment correctly and effectively
- Safe and effective operation of heavy equipment
Skills, Abilities and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1+ years’ experience operating excavators, loaders and dozers in a mining or construction setting (considered an asset)
- Safe work background and culture
- Ability to accurately follow instructions and complete tasks with little or no supervision
Work Environment and Physical Conditions
- Ability to work outside and be exposed to all forms of weather conditions
- Physical requirements include: standing, walking, bending, and sitting when driving.
- Climbing ladders up to 2.5 meters
- Good depth perception, night vision and hand-eye coordination are requirements of this job
- Use of hands, finger dexterity for manipulating the controls while operating equipment and plant is required
