BLT Construction – A leading Canadian general contractor with over 30 years of experience – is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to join our Vancouver team. In this critical role, you’ll oversee high-quality construction projects across British Columbia, ensuring excellence in site coordination, safety compliance, and execution from ground-breaking to close-out.

This on-site leadership position demands deep construction knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.

Requirements

- Strong English communication skills (written, oral, and conflict resolution).
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to project sites across British Columbia as required.
- Demonstrated “safety first” mindset and experience enforcing health & safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and knowledge of relevant building codes, bylaws, and health regulations.
- Ability to foster professional relationships with clients, consultants, trades, and municipalities.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior field staff.

Responsibilities

- Oversee all aspects of on-site construction work, including structure, shell, mechanical, plumbing, rough-in, finishes, and final fit-out.
- Manage and maintain construction schedules to ensure key milestones are met.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to proactively resolve site issues and design changes with cost-effective and schedule-neutral solutions.
- Document all daily site operations and ensure an organized,



efficient, and safe job site.
- Enforce BLT’s Health and Safety policies alongside the Health and Safety Officer.
- Lead weekly site safety and subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Support project mobilization, turnover, and close-out processes.
- Promote and maintain high standards of quality control, craftsmanship, and site cleanliness.
- Provide strategic direction on construction sequencing to optimize efficiency and minimize rework.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, consultants, trades, and internal project team members.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in a site supervisory or superintendent role within the construction industry.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale commercial or residential construction projects.
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ProCore, Sage, or similar construction software is a strong asset.
- Solid organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to make sound decisions in the field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
