Child Care Cook (Part time) – Tree of Life Montessori Academy

Location: Toronto, ON
Hours: Monday–Friday 12 to 4 and (Flexible)
Start Date: Immediate

Tree of Life Montessori Academy is seeking a reliable and organized Child Care Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in a licensed childcare setting.

Position Details

This position will begin as part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and centre needs. Training will be provided to support success in the role and ensure compliance with all childcare and public health requirements.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve meals and snacks in accordance with the centre’s approved menu and standardized recipes
- Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and Toronto Public Health food safety regulations
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures
- Maintain accurate records (menus, temperatures, cleaning logs)



for licensing and public health inspections
- Accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions in accordance with centre policies
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen at all times
- Manage inventory and ordering of food and kitchen supplies
- Ensure all snacks are prepared in advance of scheduled times

Qualifications

- Valid Food Handler Certification (required)
- Knowledge of CCEYA and Toronto Public Health requirements
- Experience in a childcare or institutional kitchen (preferred)
- Understanding of allergy and special diet management
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
- Up-to-date immunizations (as per licensing requirements)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
