Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tire Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either passenger or commercial tire installation and repair and excellent customer service skills. This role involves working with various tools and equipment to perform tire installations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring customer vehicles are secure and road-ready. Prior experience is highly valued, and candidates should be comfortable with heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with tire servicing.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace tires on a variety of vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Perform wheel balancing and rotation services to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Conduct safety inspections related to tires and suspension components
- Assist customers by explaining services performed and recommending additional maintenance or repairs when appropriate
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times
- Manage inventory of tires and related parts, ensuring stock levels are maintained
- Support the sales team by providing technical knowledge about tire products and services to customers
Requirements
- Previous passenger or commercial tire experience or mechanic background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and tire technology
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the shift
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and safety protocols
- Basic sales skills for promoting additional services or products to customers
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
