Position Overview

Fluid Hose & Coupling Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join our growing team. This role is well suited for a procurement professional with 2–3 years of experience in buying and logistics who is looking to build a strong career in within a dynamic industrial and manufacturing environment.

The Junior Purchaser will play an important role in our procurement department, supporting day-to-day sourcing and purchasing activities, maintaining supplier relationships, expediting orders, and helping our logistic team coordinate both inbound and outbound shipments both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting where accuracy and follow-through are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Request Quotations and Process Purchase Orders to Suppliers.
- Expedite purchase orders with both domestic and international suppliers.
- Obtain competitive quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times and payment terms for local suppliers.
- Obtain freight quotations from multiple freight forwarders, comparing freight costs transit times and shipping methods to determine the most cost-effective logistic solution.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Use Epicor P21 and other ERP systems to process purchase orders and monitor inventory levels.
- Work closely with manufacturing and internal teams to help forecast procurement requirements.
- Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, shortages and late deliveries.




- Communicate required supplier information to internal sales team.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, files, and procurement documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects related to purchasing processes and workflow efficiency Qualifications.
- Assist in demand forecasting and planning activities.
- Maintain log for Warehouse and Office supplies and process purchase orders to replenish stock.

Assets

- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal & written communication, time management, and follow-up skills.
- Experience using ERP systems; Epicor P21 experience is considered a robust asset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes is an asset.
- Previous experience in industrial distribution or a related industry is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Industrial & Hydraulic Hose & Fittings.
- Robust mechanical aptitude.
- Previous background in Logistics and Transportation.
