We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Deficiency Cabinet Installer to complete cabinet repairs, adjustments and finishing work on multi-family construction projects throughout the Lower Mainland.
This position is best suited to someone with at least 1–2 years of cabinet installation or finish-carpentry experience who takes pride in completing clean, skilled work. You must be comfortable working independently, identifying the cause of installation issues and completing repairs efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Inspect cabinets and millwork for deficiencies
- Adjust cabinet doors, drawer fronts, hinges and drawer slides
- Repair or replace fillers, panels, toe kicks, mouldings and other cabinet components
- Correct alignment, reveal and fit issues
- Install missing hardware, shelves and accessories
- Complete minor cabinet modifications and touch-ups on site
- Read cabinet drawings, deficiency lists and site instructions
- Take photos and document completed work
- Communicate professionally with site supervisors, project coordinators and other trades
- Keep work areas clean and protect finished surfaces
- Track required parts and report items that cannot be repaired on site
Requirements
- At least 1–2 years of cabinet installation,
cabinetmaking or finish-carpentry experience
- Experience adjusting European hinges and drawer systems
- Ability to diagnose and correct cabinet installation problems
- Comfortable using drills, saws, routers and common installation tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently and manage a daily deficiency list
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Able to lift and carry cabinet components and tools safely
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on condominium or multi-family construction projects
- Experience with laminate, melamine, wood veneer and painted cabinetry
- Experience using Autodesk Build or similar deficiency-management software
- Basic experience completing laminate, veneer or painted-surface repairs
