Alo Food Group is hiring part time and full time Server's Assistants across multiple restaurant concepts for our fine dining flagship, Alo, as well as Alobar and Aloette.

The Alo Food Group creates and operates restaurants of regard in Toronto. Since the opening of Alo -- our fine-dining flagship -- in 2015, we have aimed to make luxuries approachable while elevating time-honoured favourites. We offer our guests a continuing relationship in venues where the deliciousness of the food is met by a passion for hospitality. Along with Alo, our portfolio of restaurants includes Aloette (2017); Alobar Yorkville (2018); Salon (2019), an intimate space for private dining; and Aloette Go (2021), a take-out-and-delivery-optimized version of the original.

The ideal candidate in this role has unquestionable hospitality, a passion for all things food and beverage, and the ability to focus in a fast paced setting.

Assistant Servers are to provide a tidy restaurant space, ensure tables are free of debris and plates & glassware are cleared in a swift, timely fashion. Assistant Servers work quickly and deliberately while always maintaining a calm demeanor. They run food and should be available for the kitchen at all times. Assistant Servers may be required to take payment occasionally, and must be comfortable doing so. Assistant Servers never show signs of distress, and are professional, gracious and genuine at all times.



The following duties are expected of Assistant Servers at Alobar:

- Ensuring proper linen is stocked for the dining room, kitchen, and washrooms
- Assisting with polishing and keeping dish pit area clean
- Removing garbage and recycling
- Cleaning and restocking washrooms
- Assisting servers in clearing, crumbing & re-setting tables
- Running food and drinks
- Completing cleaning duties along with servers to ensure proper cleanliness of dining room and staff area
- Ensuring all areas of the dining room are neatly organized during service
- Ensuring service stations are well stocked
- Ensuring guests’ water choices are served and topped up in a timely manner
- Assisting the bar team in restocking coffee and tea offerings
- Ensuring menu knowledge is up to date, and being able to describe dishes to guests as their dinner is served to them

Assistant Servers at Alobar may be assigned to a specific section, or assigned the priority of running food. Regardless of which an employee is assigned, they are anticipated to be able to assist with all responsibilities nightly.

Pay: $17.60 per hour
