Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate person to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for children in a safe and hygienic environment. Your culinary skills will play a vital role in promoting healthy eating habits among young children while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. You will also work directly in the classroom with children as required and possible. You will be responsible for the health and safety of children aged 18 months to 5 years in a daycare setting while following all licensing regulations.

Duties

- Prepare balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of children.
- Plan menus that adhere to nutritional guidelines and accommodate any food allergies or restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed.
- Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with staff to create a positive dining experience for children.
- Keep records of meal preparation and adhere to health regulations regarding food handling.




- Support the educators in the classroom in delivering a safe and educational learning environment.
- Provide fun and educational activities.
- Maintain the health and safety of the children in our care.
- Support the set up, clean up and maintenance of the classroom materials.

Experience

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and dietary requirements for children is a plus.
- Experience working in a early learning setting preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Solid time management skills required.

Pay: $16.75-$21.00 per hour
