Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers to provide essential support and assistance an individual in receiving personal support. As a PSW, you will be involved in taking care of the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of clients while assisting with personal care, meal preparation and small housekeeping duties. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality service while ensuring the safety and comfort of those in your care.

This position is a Palliative Care position that requires Personal Support Workers to have End of Life Care Experience.

Responsibilities

- Provide personal care assistance such as bathing, grooming.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Operate a Cough Machine, Respiratory Machine, and Hoyer Lift.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing general housekeeping tasks.
- Document daily activities and report any changes in client conditions to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Skills

- Experience in senior care or caregiving, particularly in hospice care or assisted living settings is preferred.
- Experience administering and reminding individuals to take medication.
- Experience operating medical machinery such as a Cough Machine, Respiratory Machine and Hoyer Lift.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Kind and Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others. Patience




- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Experience and ability to perform basic housekeeping tasks.
- Experience with bathing, lifting, and transferring patients.
- Familiarity with nursing home protocols or home care practices is an asset.
- Palliative Care Experience is a Strong Asset

Requirements

- PSW Certificate from a recognized Ontario college or private career college (required).
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G2 or G) and reliable vehicle.
- Must have experience with the following: Cough Machine, Respiratory Machine, Hoyer Lift, ALS patient experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with seniors, preferably in home care, long-term care, or retirement settings.
- CPR & First Aid (Level C) (required).
- Transparent Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required).
- Up-to-date immunization, TB test, and COVID Vaccines.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, Including evening and weekends.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
