Overview

A Biohazard Cleaner specializes in cleaning and sanitizing environments affected by traumatic incidents such as accidents, crime scenes, or unattended deaths. This role involves the removal and decontamination of blood, bodily fluids, and other biohazards, returning the space to a clean, safe, and habitable condition.
If any of the following makes you uncomfortable, this job is not for you:

- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, feces and strong odours.
- Cleaning scenes of death, violent crimes, or trauma.
- Lifting heavy materials or working in full protective suits.
- Being on-call for emergency situations (including nights/weekends).

About Us

We provide professional biohazard cleanup services across Southern Ontario. Our clients trust us to deliver extremely high-quality, discreet, and dependable work in challenging situations.

We’re looking for top-level technicians who are reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to doing excellent work every time. If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in a job well done, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Biohazard Cleanup:
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect areas exposed to blood, bodily fluids, feces and other biological materials.
- Site Restoration:
- Replace or remove contaminated materials like carpets, flooring, or furniture, if necessary.
- Ensure the site is clean, odour-free, and ready for safe use.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to cleanup requests, often outside regular working hours, including nights and weekends.
- Work in a variety of challenging conditions, such as confined spaces or distressing environments.

- Client Interaction:
- Communicate sensitively with clients during emotionally difficult situations.
- Provide reassurance and explain the cleaning process clearly and professionally.

Requirements

- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license to travel to job sites.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Previous experience in a commercial cleaning role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Able to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service are essential for success in this role.

What to Expect:

Experience in biohazard remediation, crime scene cleanup, or a related field (cleaning, restoration, construction) is preferred but not required. No experience? You'll be trained until you're fully capable of working independently.

Hours vary week to week — expect roughly 10 to 30 hours per week. This is a projection based on current job volume, not a guaranteed schedule. Work is largely on-call, during slower weeks, hours will reflect that.

In addition to hourly pay schedules, Trained technicians earn a flat rate when working independently depending on a job (Smaller one-person jobs). On a typical job, that can mean $100–$160 earned within 2–3 hours.

Job Types: Contract, Freelance

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
