Position Overview

· Job Title: Financial Controller

· Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid work model)

· Employment Type: Full-time

· Compensation: Market-competitive salary and benefits package

· Start Date: Immediate or standard two-week notice period

Key Responsibilities

· Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage and execute all day-to-day full-cycle accounting activities for the group of companies.

· Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.

· Core Small Business Functions: Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

· Systems Maintenance: Keep financial data organized and up-to-date across all operational software and accounting platforms.

· Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage daily cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting to support business expansion.

· Compliance & Taxes:



Ensure strict compliance with provincial and federal corporate regulations, payroll taxes, and HST filing requirements.

· Process Improvement: Develop and implement financial controls and efficient workflows to support company growth.

Required Qualifications & Skills

· Education: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle accounting experience, specifically handling the core financial operations of a small business.

· Software Expertise: Deep proficiency in QuickBooks is strictly required.

· Productivity Tools: Strong command of office productivity suites (Microsoft Office/365 or Google Workspace).

· Professional Designation: CPA is not required for this role.

· Security Clearance: Must hold an active Federal Government security clearance or be fully eligible to obtain one.

· Language Skills: Fluent in English; proficiency in French is considered a strong asset.

· Availability: Ready to start immediately or within a standard two-week notice window.

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
