Job Summary

Fernhill Cemetery is seeking a dependable and hardworking Seasonal Worker to assist with the maintenance and care of our historic cemetery grounds. This position is primarily responsible for grass trimming around monuments, trees, fences, and other landscaped areas while assisting with a variety of general grounds maintenance tasks as needed.

Duties May Include

- Mow, trim, and edge lawns to ensure a neat appearance using appropriate hand tools and power equipment
- Perform routine landscape maintenance including weed control, mulching, and soil preparation
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and hoes for planting and maintenance tasks
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, and performing basic repairs or notifying maintenance staff as needed




- Assist with seasonal planting projects and landscape renovations as needed
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all groundskeeping activities to prevent accidents or injuries

Qualifications

- Prior experience with landscape maintenance is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools for landscaping tasks
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods
- Robust attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions throughout the season
