Full-time summer position with the prospect for winter work and year-round employment for the right candidate. Must be available a minimum of 40 hours per week as well as any additional time as requested. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy machinery and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure work is done safely and effectively.
Duties
- Operate skid steer loaders with precision for excavation, grading, and material movement across diverse construction projects
- Dig, grade, level and prepare job sites.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Collaborate with other team members to execute site plans accurately and efficiently
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform basic repairs when necessary
- Follow safety protocols rigorously during all operations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment including skid steers, loaders, backhoes, etc.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Prior experience in construction or excavation projects demonstrating familiarity with site preparation and grading techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Demonstrated understanding of safety standards and best practices in heavy equipment operation
