Lipsett Cartage is a well-established and safety-driven transportation company operating a fleet of 60 flatdeck trailers (Super B & Triaxle) and 18 company trucks. Our in-house maintenance team is essential to keeping our equipment road-ready and compliant. We're looking for a reliable and skilled Truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team.
Job Summary
As a Truck and Trailer Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment in a clean, well-equipped shop. The position involves rotating on-call duties, with a steady weekday schedule and no regular overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trucks and flatdeck trailers
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, air brake, and hydraulic systems
- Complete and maintain service records to meet compliance standards
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support fleet uptime
Qualifications
- Journeyperson or Red Seal Truck and Transport Mechanic preferred (Apprentices considered)
- Hands-on experience with flatdeck trailers and Class 8 trucks
- SGI Vehicle Safety Technician certification is a strong asset
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Safety-focused with a strong work ethic
- Valid driver’s license (Class 1A considered an asset)
- Previous welding experience is a strong asset and will be considered a key advantage for this role
