POSITION: Laundry Attendant

STATUS/LENGTH: Part-Time OR Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor / Manager

HOURS OF WORK: 32.00 - 40.00 per week

WAGE: starting at $19.25 per hr to $22.00/hr after 3 months probation complete

Position Overview:

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, folding and shelving laundry supplies.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently to wash, dry, fold, and iron hotel linens, towels, and guest laundry.
- Sort, load, unload, inspect, and organize linens to ensure timely availability for guest rooms and public areas.
- Assisting Room attendants as required.
- Measure and use cleaning agents according to product and machine specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and report equipment issues or irregularities to the supervisor.
- Follow proper stain removal, fabric care, chemical handling, and drying procedures to maintain linen quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, storage areas, equipment, and workspaces.
- Stock linen storage areas and replenish supplies for housekeeping as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management when restocking is required.
- Support hotel cleanliness by assisting with general cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Comply with health, safety, attendance, and hotel cleanliness standards, including "Power Of Clean" guidelines.
- Maximize efficiency in the use of equipment, time, linens, and supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Management, or Ownership.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Able to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Requires lifting bundles of linen weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Able to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms overhead to perform cleaning tasks
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Extended periods of time standing.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Flexible – able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.




- Excellent work ethic; must be honest and work well with others.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and theories normally acquired in a related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and relevant work experience.
- A thorough understanding of customer service
- Marriott or hotel chain working experience is an asset however, extensive training will be provided; both on the job and online.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbally and/or non-verbally) to guests and Associates.
- Self-starter and great disposition.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Willing to “pitch-in”, support co- workers and a team player.
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods of time. Note: Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Anticipate guest needs is a definite asset.
- Understanding of instructions from supervisor(s) and Management

Terms

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and/or dependable transportation to report to work
