Overview
My client, Stuart Hunt & Associates Ltd. (SHA) is an integrated supplier of products and services to a wide range of businesses and industries, that use or work with radioactive materials and radiation emitting devices. Their products and services are focused on five verticals, fixed and portable applications in industry, non‐destructive testing, healthcare and research, and nuclear power. They are currently seeking a Field Radiation Safety Technician to join their team in Mississauga, Ontario. This is a service role which requires overnight travel 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
In the role of Radiation Safety Technician, you will be working in a highly regulated industry and responsible for aspects of the handling of radioactive sources and radiation emitting devices including:
- Nuclear Gauge Servicing
- Mounting and dismounting of various fixed radiation devices.
- Servicing of new and existing radiation devices.
- Installation and removal of sealed radioactive sources from radiation devices.
- Transport packaging of radioactive materials
- Radiation device dismantling
- Leak testing and surveying of various radiation devices.
- Calibration of portable nuclear gauges
Skills
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Tech savvy with excellent MS Office knowledge
- Clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in fabricating tools or solutions that enhance workplace safety.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical skills for assessing risks and developing effective solutions.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team workplace.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
