JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and performing diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts
- Complete preventative maintenance schedules, including: installing component/part upgrades; controlling corrosion etc.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems - power/drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics
- Make adjustments and alignments, including: bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
- Some metal fabrication and welding - steel/aluminum
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Comply with federal,



state and provincial vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operational instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs
- Keep work area clean and safe; clean up after job completion

QUALIFICATIONS:

- We are open to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year apprentices, and will also consider motivated candidates looking to start an apprenticeship
- Registered or willing to register as an Apprentice (310T)
- Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and truck/trailer components
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to learn and take direction from licensed technicians
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Team player with a positive attitude
