We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, ensuring medication safety, and supporting clinical operations within a hospital or healthcare setting. Duties
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician orders and legal regulations
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers and patients regarding medication therapies and potential interactions
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust treatments as necessary in collaboration with medical staff
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, safety standards, and hospital policies
- Maintain detailed and accurate medication records and documentation for each patient
- Educate patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Oversee medication inventory management, including ordering, storage, and disposal of pharmaceuticals
- Assist in training and mentoring pharmacy interns or new staff members as needed
Requirements
- Valid Pharmacist license in BC and in good standing with the College of Pharmacy
- Atleast 2+ years experience in a retail pharmacy in strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and patient care standards
- Experience with adaptations, MACS prescribing, immunizations, travel health preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical practice standards
