Responsibilities

Rice Aggregates is looking for DZ Drivers who can handle a variety of local aggregate hauling assignments, based out of our Queensville yard.

- Perform mandatory circle checks on trucks before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order,
- Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
- Operate communication equipment such as truck cab computers, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers
- Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial regulations.
- Deliver product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner
- Must be professional,



respectful & courteous when dealing with customers, general public and coworkers
- Must be dependable and be able to manage time effectively to ensure maximum efficiency
- Must keep equipment clean and in valuable condition (cleaning materials provided & report equipment deficiencies to onsite mechanics)

Skills Required:

Successful candidates will have the following skills:

- We require a good safety and driving record and the highest degree of dependability.
- Valid DZ driver’s license & clean Driver's Abstract
- Must be safety oriented and report to each shift with full PPE (CSA approved hard hat, safety shirt/vest & work boots)
- Able to work long days, flexible work hours & weekends
- Must be physically able to climb ladder & able to clean out dump box (shovel)
- Tri-axle dump truck experience an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers and dispatcher
- Must be able to follow directions and work in high traffic areas such as GTA
- Aggregate experience an asset
- Must speak fluent English
