Location of work: Hensall, ON, N0M 1X0 - Various location. This position requires that the Technician visit different customer locations.

Responsibilities

Tasks-job duties

- Respond in a timely and professinal manner to service calls at the customer locations including electrical control systems, electric motors, drives, PLCs and other protective and switching equipment located in the control panel.
- Be able to troubleshoot equipment feedback devices, such as encoders and sensors.
- Assist in design, development and testing
- Be able to repair drives in-house
- Exhibit valuable knowledge of electrical and mechanical design
- Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
- Know how to produce basic electrical and mechanical design
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Install, maintain and service equipment
- Assist in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic components
- Calibrate electronic equipment and instruments
- Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications
- Collect and compile operational or experimental data




- Carry out applied research in fields of electrical and electronic engineering and physics
- Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, and operation of electrical and electronic equipment and systems
- Set up and operate specialized and standard test equipment to diagnose, test and analyze the performance of electrical and electronic components, assemblies and systems
- Conduct life tests (burn-ins) on components, subassemblies and assemblies

- Proficiency in control circuit design is critical
- Proficiency in electrical motor control is critical
