About Us:

Bayview Group of Companies is a vertically integrated organization that is a grower, broker, and distributor of floral solutions. Established in 1948, Bayview provides floral products to some of the largest retailers across North America.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Purchaser will:

Responsibilities:
· Provide current and future availability of products grown in the Bayview Greenhouses always keeping Bayview as the vendor of choice.

· Purchase the highest quality potted plants at the best possible price to meet our customers’ demands.

· Review and distribute all purchase orders daily, ensuring that all information is complete and accurate.

· Solicit specials and new products to be communicated to the sales team.

· Keep all product costs updated and current in the system.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices

· Keep the price list updated with current suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and service.

· Inspect the product daily to be aware of grower quality and staging.





· Confer and build customer/supplier relations with the growers to ensure that Bayview is and remains a preferred customer and is offered all new products.

· Provide information to the sales and procurement team on the product offerings of external growers.

Qualifications:

· Expert knowledge of Excel and MS Office, Power BI, Salesforce, as well as NAV experience, is an asset.

· Previous experience purchasing in a greenhouse setting.

· Excellent organization and communication skills.

· Qualified manners with customers and staff.

· Potted plant product knowledge is a must.

· Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
