Position Summary:

We are seeking reliable, attentive, and fair individuals to fill our vacant Timekeeper & Referee positions at Xposed Ball Hockey League (XBHL). These positions are vital in maintaining the integrity, pace, and enjoyment of the game. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enforcing rules, ensuring player safety, managing game flow, and accurately tracking time, scores, and penalties.

Key Responsibilities:Referee Duties:

- Officiate games in accordance with XBHL rules.
- Make impartial decisions on infractions, goals, and disputes.
- Ensure player safety by managing aggressive behaviour and calling penalties.
- Maintain control and authority during gameplay.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with Players, Coaches, and Team Reps
- Start and stop play according to regulation rules.

Timekeeper Duties:

- Operate the scoreboard and game clock with accuracy and consistency.
- Record goals, penalties, assists, and game statistics as required.
- Ensure accurate start/end times for games.
- Coordinate with referees and league officials regarding game events.
- Maintain legible and organized game sheets.

Qualifications:





- Prior experience as a referee or timekeeper is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of ball hockey or related sports (e.g., ice hockey, floor hockey) rules is required.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and unbiased under pressure.
- Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Certification in officiating (if applicable) is an asset.

Working Conditions:

- Weekend and evening availability is required.
- Outdoor rink workplace; standing/moving for extended periods.
- Occasional exposure to loud environments and fast-paced play.

Compensation:

- Hourly wage or per-game rate (based on experience and league standards).
