About Chè

Chè is a Vietnamese dessert café located on Kingsway in Vancouver. We specialize in colourful Vietnamese sweet desserts known as chè, smoothies, Vietnamese coffee, teas, mochi waffles, and other sweet treats inspired by Vietnamese and Asian flavours.

We are looking for a team member who is interested in more than simply taking orders and making drinks. The successful candidate will begin by learning our front-counter operations and beverage station. They will then gradually receive training in preparing and cooking the ingredients used in our chè desserts.

This position is suitable for someone who enjoys café work, is interested in pastry or dessert preparation, and wants to develop their food and beverage skills.

About You

You are someone who:

- Enjoys making drinks, desserts, pastries, or visually appealing food.
- Is genuinely interested in learning how Vietnamese chè ingredients are prepared.
- Takes pride in following recipes accurately and producing consistent results.
- Is creative and interested in developing recent drinks or dessert items.
- Is comfortable working at both the front counter and in a food-preparation area.
- Can stay organized and work efficiently during busy periods.
- Notices small details and cares about cleanliness and presentation.
- Accepts feedback positively and is willing to continue learning.
- Is dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team.
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers and coworkers.

Ideally, You Have

- Barista, bubble tea, café, or beverage-preparation experience.
- Pastry, baking, dessert, or commercial kitchen experience.
- Customer service or cashier experience.
- Experience using a point-of-sale system.
- FOODSAFE Level 1 certification.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.





Previous experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to a candidate who demonstrates the right attitude, work habits, attention to detail, and interest in learning.

What You Will Do
Customer Service and Front Counter

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Take customer orders accurately using the Square point-of-sale system.
- Explain menu items and help customers choose drinks and desserts.
- Process in-store, pickup, and delivery orders.
- Confirm that each order is complete and properly presented before it is served.
- Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front-counter area.

Beverage and Dessert Preparation

- Prepare Vietnamese coffee, teas, milk teas, fruit drinks, smoothies, dessert drinks, and other beverages according to store recipes.
- Assemble chè desserts, waffles, and other menu items.
- Measure ingredients accurately and follow recipes consistently.
- Maintain product quality, portion sizes, appearance, and presentation.
- Monitor inventory and restock ingredients, cups, toppings, packaging, and other supplies.
- Keep beverage and dessert-preparation areas clean and organized.
- Follow food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.

Dessert Kitchen Training

After successfully learning the front counter and beverage station, you will be trained to:

- Prepare and cook selected ingredients used in Vietnamese chè desserts.




- Prepare jellies, beans, fruit, sauces, toppings, and other dessert components.
- Follow recipes, preparation schedules, food-safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Check ingredients for freshness, taste, texture, appearance, and consistency.
- Assist with testing new drinks, pastries, desserts, and seasonal menu items.
- Contribute practical ideas for improving recipes and product presentation.
