Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chess Teacher to inspire students of various ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chess strategies and the ability to foster a love for the game through engaging instruction. This role involves creating a positive learning environment, developing students’ critical thinking skills, and helping them achieve their personal best in chess.

Duties

- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate chess lessons to students in individual or group settings
- Develop customized lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Teach chess strategies, tactics, rules, and etiquette effectively
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Organize and oversee chess competitions or tournaments to encourage practical application of skills
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and motivating classroom environment




- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and achievements
- Stay current with current teaching methods and chess developments to enhance instructional quality

Requirements

- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in a classroom setting
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts clearly and engagingly
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students of different ages and skill levels
- Knowledge of chess strategies, rules, and tournament procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to develop structured lesson plans
- Ability to foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation
- Prior classroom experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential

Pay: $17.20-$30.00 per hour
