JOB SUMMARY

Contrada is seeking a full-time Line Cook to join our team.

An already beloved but ever-evolving neighbourhood restaurant in Little Italy, Contrada is a fast-paced kitchen dedicated to serving thoughtful, modern Italian cuisine with a focus on quality, seasonality, and craftsmanship. We're looking for someone who is passionate about cooking, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in every plate that leaves the pass.

Full-time team members can expect to work four shifts per week, averaging approximately 10 hours per shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and cook menu items according to the Chef's specifications and standards.
- Consistently execute dishes with precision, quality, and attention to detail
- Ensure food is prepared and plated efficiently during service
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
- Assist with daily prep and station setup
- Assist with planning, preparing, and serving the daily staff meal, making thoughtful use of available ingredients while maintaining quality and minimizing waste
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
- Participate in opening and closing duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS





- 2+ years of experience as a line cook in a professional kitchen is required
- A genuine passion for cooking and a desire to build a long-term career in restaurants
- Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen organization
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency
- Robust communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Ability to take direction, work independently when needed, and contribute positively to the team
- Availability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Most shifts run from 2:00–3:00 PM until approximately midnight.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
