Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support in pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient medication dispensing and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital or pharmacy settings, possess robust knowledge of medical terminology, and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and service. Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
- Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining patient records
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper medication storage and handling
- Support medication administration processes by preparing labels and verifying prescriptions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area to meet health standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members to facilitate smooth pharmacy operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is preferred
- Experience as a pharmacy technician or in patient care roles is advantageous
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Compassionate attitude with a focus on patient safety and confidentiality
- Basic computer skills for managing electronic health records and pharmacy software
- Certification or training related to pharmacy assistance or medical support is a plus
