Duties and responsibilities

- Machining
- Fabrication
- Programming and control systems
- Handle necessary repairs and maintenance as set forth by the R&D; Department
- Fabricate, install and repair R&D; and manufacturing equipment
- Inspect the building, grounds, and equipment for defects or issues
- Perform repairs on machines and equipment
- Clean and maintain R&D; area
- Respond to equipment breakdowns at the request of R&D; employees
- Drive forklift as needed

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

- Ideal candidate has a background as a Millwright, Welder, Instrumentation, Industrial Mechanic, Mechanical Engineer, CNC Machinist
- Experience with welding is an asset
- Robust technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
- Comfortable operating handheld power tools
- Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Practical knowledge of mechanical working systems
- Ability to work alone unsupervised
- Self-motivated
- Punctual
- Ability to work as a team player
- Ability to react to changing work environment

Education and qualifications

- Class 5 drivers license required
