Overview:

GD Nielsen is an award-winning custom home building company that is dedicated to high-end residential construction and craftsmanship. We pride ourselves in delivering exceptional, top-quality homes to our clients.

We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Carpenter to join our job-site crew. This full time position offers opportunities for future growth within the company. Our current job sites are in West Vancouver and Vancouver, and our services extend throughout Greater Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:

- Proficiently read, interpret, and scale construction drawings and project specifications.
- Accurately measure, cut, shape and level both rough and finishing carpentry materials.
- Effectively operate power and hand tools for all carpentry tasks.
- Efficiently frame walls, floors, subfloors, beams, roof trusses, stairs, ceilings (back framing), and architectural concrete formwork.
- Quality fit and install exterior doors, windows and finishing materials (trim, crown moulding, hardware, interior doors).
- Verify that all work and measurements conform to engineering specifications.




- Confidently follow directions from the site superintendent and collaborate positively with the site team.

Qualifications and requirements:

- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in residential carpentry (framing, finishing, forming).
- Possess standard hand tools and basic power tools.
- Strong understanding of various building material properties, fasteners, adhesives, framing techniques, and basic math/ geometry.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights/ ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, punctual, safety-conscious and pride in craftmanship.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (ability to travel between job sites).
- Education in College, CEGEP, other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 month-less than 1 year.
