Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, inspection, and general upkeep of all Hamlet-owned facilities and infrastructure, including the Municipal Office, Cultural Centre, Arena, Swimming Pool, Public Works facilities, Hamlet-owned housing units, and other municipal buildings.

Responsibilities

· Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on municipal buildings and equipment.

· Complete carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and minor electrical repairs.

· Inspect facilities and identify maintenance requirements.

· Operate hand and power tools safely.

· Assist with municipal infrastructure maintenance as required.

· Respond to emergency maintenance situations, including occasional evenings and weekends.

· Maintain a safe and organized work workplace.

Qualifications

· Experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related trade.

· Knowledge of carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems is an asset.

· Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset.

· Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.

· Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in all weather conditions.





· Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently.

· Willingness to obtain WHMIS, Standard First Aid/CPR, and Confined Space Entry certification.
