Overview
Inspire and coach GR 4-12 athletes in the advanced to expert realm as part of the Livingstone Ski Academy (LSA) in beautiful southwest Alberta.. A unique opportunity for mid-week coaching. Academy coaches are specifically responsible for the delivery of the training plan set forth for the Livingstone Ski Academy (LSA), an innovative school program that blends personalized education with on mountain professional Race, Free Style and Big Mountain coaching.
This position requires committed days throughout the school term. GR 4-6 one week-day afternoon (Tuesday), and Full day Friday. GR 7-12 operates two weekday afternoons on Monday and Wednesday with a Full Day on Fridays (excluding stats and PD days). Ability to attend all program dates with the exception of three personal days (for courses/exams) is a requirement of the position.

Responsibilities
- Understanding and deliver the training plan as outlined by the Academy and Snow school Management
- Complete progress reports on each athlete and reviewing progress with other staff as required
- Continually improving own technical skills to better serve the client
- Update report system weekly with video, objectives and assessments
- Proficient with video equipment, cell phone and computers
- Act as a guide and ambassador to the Castle Mountain Experience
- Attend as many snow school trainings as possible
Qualifications
- Passion for the ski industry and culture
- A sense of teamwork and community
- Hold the following certifications (minimum): CASI/CSIA/PSIC Level 2 or above (or international equivalent) Preference given to Level 3 or above
- Additional certifications which are considered an asset
- IFSA L100 (online course)
- For snowboarders - CSCP Canada Snowboard Coaching certification an asset
- CAA AST-1 or equivalent (can be obtained within the first 30 days of employment)
- Basic Park skills (box slide, 180/360 off small jump, straight air large jumps)
Preference will be given to candidates who have any of the following:
- CSIA/PSIC Level 2 or higher
- Air 1,2, 3 and 4
- CFSA or CSIA/PSIC Park & Pipe
- 4 years or more experience instructing or coaching
Work Experience
- 3 years’ experience working with Learn to Ski and Train to Train Athletes in a non-competitive setting or leading skiers in advanced Terrain is an asset.
- Experience teaching in an alpine resort environment similar to Castle Mountain
- Expert off-piste skiing/riding skills consistent with Castle Mountain terrain
Where We Are:
Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB.

Eligibility Statement
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of the program
- Must Be Available December through end of March
- Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
