Salesforce Principal Consultant

This role is the technical and architectural backbone of Muni PaaS project delivery.

You will lead solution design from pre-sales through go-live, shaping architecture decisions, guiding development teams, and ensuring that what gets built is scalable, maintainable, and practical for municipal operations long after implementation.

You are equally comfortable deep in technical architecture discussions and sitting across from a Director of IT explaining why a particular approach makes sense for their environment. You understand how to balance platform capability, delivery practicality, governance requirements, and long-term sustainability.

At Muni PaaS, architects are not disconnected from delivery. This is a hands‑on role where you will actively review solutions, guide implementation teams, troubleshoot complex challenges, and step into the build when needed.

You will work across multiple concurrent municipal engagements and act as one of the senior technical voices within both the company and client environments.

What You Will Do

You will lead architecture and technical solution design across municipal Salesforce implementations, defining scalable data models, integration patterns, automation strategies, security architecture, and platform configurations aligned with both Salesforce best practices and municipal governance realities.

This role combines technical leadership, delivery oversight, and client engagement.

Key responsibilities include: Leading architecture for municipal solutions spanning:

311 and citizen service management

Permitting and licensing

Inspections and enforcement

Public works and workforce operations

Asset management

Making and defending architectural decisions including:

Omni Studio vs. Screen Flows

Declarative vs. custom development

Managed package vs. custom build approaches

Producing:

Architecture documentation

Data flow diagrams

Technical specifications

Solution design materials

Participating in:

Discovery workshops

Technical demonstrations

RFP responses

Scoping and estimation activities

Acting as technical lead during delivery by:





Guiding developers

Reviewing implementation quality

Supporting QA and UAT

Identifying technical risks early

Contributing to reusable Muni PaaS frameworks, accelerators, and architectural standards that improve consistency and delivery speed across clients

You will also stay current on AI, Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, Omni Studio, Agentforce, and broader Salesforce platform developments, helping determine how emerging capabilities apply to municipal environments.

What You Bring

You bring deep hands‑on Salesforce implementation experience with the judgment that comes from delivering complex projects in real client environments.

You understand how to design end‑to‑end Salesforce solutions spanning integrations, automation, data architecture, security models, and deployment strategy. More importantly, you understand how to make pragmatic decisions that hold up operationally once municipalities are live on the platform.

You are comfortable leading technical discussions directly with clients, facilitating discovery workshops, and translating complex technical concepts into practical recommendations for non‑technical stakeholders.

Robust written communication matters in this role. You should be able to produce clear architecture documentation, technical specifications, implementation guidance, and solution narratives that support both delivery teams and formal procurement processes.

Core experience we are looking for includes:

9+ years of hands‑on Salesforce implementation experience

Experience in a Solution Architect or Technical Lead capacity

Strong depth across:

Salesforce Industries (Any)

Service Cloud

Experience Cloud

Omni Studio / Vlocity

Experience with:

Salesforce Dev Ops tooling





Gearset

SFDX

Source control and deployment pipelines

Salesforce certifications such as:

Application Architect

System Architect

Platform Developer II

Practical delivery experience and strong architectural judgment matter more than certification volume.

Strong Assets

The strongest candidates will bring experience working within municipal, regional government, or broader public sector environments.
