Waiaroha isn't justhome to a high-tech treatment plant that supplies clean, safe drinking water to Hastings. It is a place where adults and kids can explore together, discuss new ideas and get inspired about the future. Our purpose-built discovery centre supports tamariki and teachers, and celebrates the knowledge and creativity of Ngāti Kahungunu ki Heretaunga through on-site art and storytelling.

To keep our facilities looking at their best, we are looking for an amazing Operations Assistant – Facilities with strong their attention to detail, quality, and ability to deliver. The focus of this role is to keep Waiaroha's grounds, buildings, bathroom facilities, and systems well maintained, safe, and welcoming, ensuring they are presented to a high standard for the community to enjoy.

Our facilities are at the heart of our community,



and we want passionate people to come join our team. You will work closely with our cleaning supplier to ensure standards are continually high and create a safe and secure environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A proactive and self motivated attitude

Ability to be practical and problem solve – resolve routine operational issues and suggest improvements.

Health, Safety and Risk awareness.

Teamwork and communication skills.

A willingness to learn - open to training in water systems, equipment use, tikanga Māori, and council processes.

This is a permanent part time position, working 25 hours, spread over 5 days per week.
