Location: Fort McMurray / Northern Alberta (Camp-Based, Rotational)
Project: Major Industrial Turnaround (Electrical Scope)
Employment Type: Contract Field with High Potential for Permanent Employment

Company: MSCP Heat Management Solutions

About MSCP

MSCP Heat Management Solutions is an integrated industrial services company based in Sherwood Park, Alberta. We specialize in heat tracing, insulation, rope access, fireproofing, and electrical services across Canada’s industrial sector.

We operate as a fully integrated heat management provider. Our focus is on aligning people, planning, and execution to deliver consistent, measurable results. We are not just executing scopes, we are building long term partnerships through strong performance and professional leadership.

The Chance

MSCP has been awarded a major electrical scope for an upcoming industrial turnaround.

We are looking for a Superintendent to take on a senior field leadership role as the primary representative for MSCP on site. This role carries full accountability for overall performance, leadership of the field team, and how MSCP is represented throughout the project.

This is not a traditional supervisory role. It is a leadership position focused on alignment, accountability, and delivering strong outcomes through others.

Position Summary

The Superintendent is MSCP’s senior field leader on the turnaround. You are responsible for how MSCP shows up, how the work is experienced, and how the field team performs.

You operate between leadership and field execution. You do not solve day to day problems directly. You ensure the right people, structure, and communication are in place so problems are solved effectively and consistently.

This role requires strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to lead through planning, coaching, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Accountability

You are the senior representative for MSCP on site and set the tone for performance.

Establish a strong and professional presence from the outset

Represent MSCP in all pre-turnaround and on-site leadership meetings

Provide consistent, proactive communication on progress, risks, and performance

Ensure incidents and key updates are communicated clearly and immediately

Maintain visibility on performance and ensure readiness for post-event review

Planning and Project Readiness

Strong outcomes start before mobilization. You ensure the project is properly set up.

Confirm all field leadership roles are clearly defined and filled

Lead planning discussions with the General Foreman to align schedule with field reality

Ensure safety, quality, and execution plans are complete and submitted in advance

Support equipment planning and approvals ahead of mobilization

Field Leadership and Team Development

You lead through people by developing strong field leadership around you.

Coach and support the General Foreman to own execution

Build trust through clear expectations, communication, and consistency

Encourage accountability and ownership at the Foreman and GF level

Create an environment where leaders grow and take responsibility for outcomes

Coordination and Oversight

You ensure the system around the work is functioning properly.

Maintain awareness of progress, risks, and operational challenges

Ensure communication between field teams and MSCP leadership is clear and consistent

Support alignment across planning, execution, safety, and quality

Focus on keeping work flowing without unnecessary disruption

Continuous Improvement and Performance

You are responsible for learning from the work and improving future performance.

Lead post-event reviews with the field team shortly after demobilization

Capture lessons learned and provide structured feedback to leadership

Monitor performance throughout the turnaround and adjust in real time

Contribute to improving how MSCP delivers future projects

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a leader who is comfortable operating at a high level while staying grounded in field reality.

Required:

Proven experience leading industrial turnarounds

Robust leadership and communication ability

Experience managing or developing field leadership teams

Ability to operate under pressure while maintaining structure and clarity

Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes

Preferred:

Background in electrical, heat trace, or heat management

Experience with digital work packages or inspection systems

Familiarity with contractor scorecards or performance tracking systems

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is reflected in both performance and leadership impact.

MSCP is seen as qualified, prepared, and reliable

Field leadership operates with clarity, ownership, and accountability

Communication is proactive, not reactive

Issues are identified early and managed effectively

The project delivers a strong outcome and positions MSCP for future work

Why Join MSCP

MSCP is building a company focused on alignment, leadership, and continuous improvement.

You will be supported with:

Clear expectations and role definition

Strong internal communication and leadership access

A structured approach to planning and execution

A culture focused on learning and improvement

This is an opportunity to take on a key leadership role in a major turnaround and contribute to how MSCP continues to grow and improve.
