The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service seeks a skilled Crown Prosecutor for its Edmonton Rural and Regional Response Office. Ideal candidates will demonstrate agility, build collaborative environments, and master creative problem solving. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities including conducting bail hearings, charge screening, and prosecuting serious and complex cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure fair and just outcomes in prosecutions
- Provide the Court with complete and accurate evidence
- Conduct prosecutions for reliable criminal cases
- Work closely with victims and their families
- Draft legal opinions and manage charges
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD)
- 0-4 years legal experience for Crown Prosecutor 1
- 4 years for Crown Prosecutor 2
- 11 years for Crown Prosecutor 3
- Active membership with the Law Society of Alberta
