The Cloud Services Analyst is an essential asset for the provisioning and administration of cloud resources. The successful candidate must be able to collaborate and interact with a wide variety of groups, within Air Canada or with numerous external business and IT partners, to ensure provisioning, configuration and incident resolution. This person has in-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure provisioning and administration, as well as an excellent track record of performance, best practices and incident resolution in challenging, high-pressure, rapidly evolving roles.
The incumbent reports to the Senior Manager – Infrastructure and Cloud Services.
Responsibilities
- Manage Air Canada's cloud infrastructure services and multiple cloud providers, including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Design, develop, deploy and maintain cloud solutions using automation tools to meet business service requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise on AWS cloud services to meet business service requirements for reliability and disaster recovery.
- Participate in Air Canada's Cloud Management Center of Expertise and Governance process.
- Support cloud migration solutions by applying cloud expertise and knowledge to provide an optimal customer experience while reducing risks and maximizing benefits.
- Participate in resolving issues related to cloud infrastructure and provide support in the event of major incidents related to cloud services. Continuously monitor all access to cloud resources and all compliance discrepancies.
- Consult with and collaborate with suppliers and partners,
as well as all relevant stakeholders, on the development or deployment of cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Design, document and validate policies, processes or procedures related to a variety of cloud standards and concepts.
- Monitor performance and diagnose all resources using the cloud service provider console, web portals or command line interface (CLI).
- Participate in the development, design, implementation, maintenance and analysis of Air Canada's cloud infrastructure projects.
- Provide continuous integration and delivery expertise and best practices for development and operations to ensure the implementation of ongoing projects, including cloud infrastructure deployment.
- Work collaboratively with other cloud services technical architects to ensure all new systems and changes to existing systems are validated and approved.
- Analyze the assigned account, cloud service usage and capacity needs.
Qualifications
- Relevant technical certification or university degree (or relevant experience)
- At least four years of experience in cloud technologies, and more specifically in the field of IT infrastructure and operations.
- At least two years of experience related to cloud operations, with extensive expertise in the AWS services and products ecosystem. Azure platform experience, an asset.
- At least two years of experience in IT service management system processes and tools.
- Excellent understanding of networks,
firewall systems and routing protocols
- Expertise in cloud security best practices and the use of firewalls, load balancing, encryption, Active Directory (AD), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and SAML standard
- At least two years of experience in automation tools (PowerShell, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of the air transport industry and experience in the transport or logistics sector, assets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; customer and results-oriented approach.
- Team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative attitude
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a rapid-paced environment.
