Join a dedicated Animal Care team at the Wilder Institute, where you’ll leverage your experience in managing daily animal care tasks.
You will monitor animal health, maintain clean habitats, and ensure adherence to welfare standards. Your mentorship will guide Animal Care Assistants while you engage with the public through educational programs. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide and monitor dietary needs for various species
- Conduct health assessments and report concerns
- Maintain and disinfect animal habitats
- Mentor and assign tasks to Animal Care Assistants
- Participate in animal capture and restraint procedures Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of animal care experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Zoology or related field
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license
- Knowledge of animal welfare standards and protocols
- Experience with ZIMS is desirable Contribute to animal welfare and conservation initiatives as a vital member of Calgary Zoo's mission.
