Felice is the musical term for happy - and that's exactly what we're here to create. Located in the heart of Stadium Yards in Edmonton, Felice Cafe is a community-first space where craft coffee, rising local chefs, talented makers, and live music all come together under one roof. We exist to support local, and we take that seriously.

We're growing fast - and intentionally. With a reputation in the industry for being a well-run, values-driven operation, we're building out the team and structure to match the ambition we have for what Felice can become.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an Assistant Manager who's ready to grow into something bigger. This isn't just an ops role - it's a career path. You'll start by mastering the daily rhythm of Felice, then progressively take on more: shaping our pricing strategy, driving promotions, and eventually running the cafe side of the business independently.

Our General Manager leads the overall organization and its strategic vision. Your job, over time, is to lead the cafe - so she can focus on the bigger picture.

What the First 18 Months Look Like

Months 1–6: Learn the Operation

You'll get deep into how Felice runs - our systems, our people, our culture, and our standards. By the end of six months, daily operations should feel completely natural. You'll be comfortable managing the team, assisting HR functions like hiring and performance conversations, and holding the standard we've built.

Months 7–12: Start Driving Growth

Once the ops foundation is solid, we'll invite you into the commercial side of the business. You'll dig into our pricing,



put forward ideas for promotions and traffic-driving initiatives, and start contributing meaningfully to how the cafe grows. We're aiming for strong revenue growth on the cafe side over this period - and we want your fingerprints on it.

Months 13–18: Take the Wheel

By this point, the expectation is that you're running the cafe day-to-day with confidence and real ownership. Programs are succeeding, the team is thriving, and we're looking at what your title and role evolve into next.

What You'll Be Doing

- Leading daily cafe operations - opening, closing, floor management, and everything in between
- Coaching, scheduling, and supporting a team of baristas and shift leads
- Participating in hiring decisions and onboarding new team members
- Handling performance conversations and disciplinary processes as needed
- Assisting with payroll coordination and administrative functions
- Developing and pitching ideas for promotions, events, and initiatives that bring more people through the door
- Contributing to pricing reviews and menu strategy
- Holding and evolving the high standard Felice is known for

What We're Looking For
- Experience in cafe, restaurant, or hospitality leadership - you've managed people and operations before
- Someone who genuinely loves running a tight, warm, high-quality operation
- Commercial curiosity - you think about the business, not just the shift
- Strong communicator who can have direct,



respectful conversations with staff and guests alike
- Self-starter who doesn't need to be told what needs doing
- Someone who cares about community and gets what Felice is trying to build
- Alignment with our values: support local, show up with energy, do it right

Compensation & Advantages We believe in being transparent about what this role actually pays - so here's the honest picture:

- Base wage: $21-$23/hour depending on experience
- Tips: Our tip pool is among the strongest in Edmonton - baristas currently average an additional $3-4.50/hour on top of base. You'd be included in the pool while working on the floor.
- Two weeks paid vacation (accrued annually based on hours worked)
- 5 sick days per year
- Free staff drinks every shift
- Monthly food allowance to enjoy the cafe's food and/or market offerings
- A genuine growth path - this role is built to evolve, and compensation evolves with it

A note on tips: As the role develops and you spend more time on management functions versus floor shifts, tip eligibility will naturally evolve. We're committed to making sure your total compensation reflects your growth and contribution at every stage. A Little More About Felice

We're more than a coffee shop. Felice is a community hub - home to rotating local food vendors, a curated maker market, private event space, evening programming, and CaféQuest. Later this year we're launching a market-style block party in the park right out front of the cafe.
