The Macalester College Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin in the fall semester of 2026. The successful candidate should have a PhD (in hand or expected) in Philosophy, and show potential for excellence in research and undergraduate teaching. Philosophy of Mind and/or Philosophy of Language Open, but the candidate should have advanced undergraduate teaching competence in both Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Language.

The standard teaching load is five courses per year, with usual non-teaching duties expected. The first year normally carries a one-course reduction in teaching.
