Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Lawyer to join our busy Corporate Commercial and Real Estate practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to deepen their expertise while working with experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of corporate commercial agreements, including shareholder agreements, purchase agreements, and service contracts
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations
- Advise clients on general corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters
- Handle real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and leasing
- Liaise directly with clients, financial institutions, and other stakeholders
- Support senior lawyers on complex transactions and files
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD/LLB) and membership in valuable standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years relevant experience in corporate commercial/ real estate
- Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced workplace
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Solid attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
