Level up your career as an Automation Software Developer — Junior or Senior Level We are hiring for one Automation Software Developer vacancy and are open to considering either junior or senior-level candidates. This role offers the chance to develop software that supports Vidir’s automation products, connects equipment with customer systems, and contributes to meaningful innovation in industrial automation.
Develop, maintain, and improve software features using C#, .NET, Blazor, ASP.NET Core, SQL/PostgreSQL, Entity Framework Core, and related technologies.
Participate in, or lead depending on experience, the architecture, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of scalable software supporting multiple machine platforms and customer workflows.
Develop software that integrates with PLCs, industrial equipment, databases, APIs, ERP/WMS platforms, CSV exchange, cloud-connected services, and customer systems.
Troubleshoot software defects, database issues, networking challenges, customer integrations,
and production or deployment concerns.
Collaborate with Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Service, and Customer Support teams to improve product quality, support deployments, and translate operational feedback into future product improvements.
Participate in software validation, machine testing, commissioning, deployments, diagnostics, logging, and customer support activities as required.
Follow and contribute to modern software engineering practices including Git-based source control, peer code reviews, software architecture reviews, testing strategies, release management, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to PLC/HMI software, automation projects, R&D; initiatives, product improvements, AI-assisted development, and evaluation of emerging software technologies.
Create and maintain technical documentation, release notes, troubleshooting guides, testing records, architecture documentation, and engineering best practices.
For senior-level candidates, provide technical leadership through architecture decisions, coding standards, mentoring, code reviews, and software lifecycle improvements.
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; For junior-level candidates: foundational experience through education, co-op placements, personal projects, technical projects, or early professional experience in software development, automation, or related technical work.
For senior-level candidates: 5+ years of professional experience in software development, systems engineering, automation, or related technical disciplines,
with demonstrated ability to design scalable software and guide technical decisions.
Experience developing software using C#/.NET or similar languages, with stronger production software experience expected at the senior level.
Understanding of object-oriented programming, SQL databases, APIs, Git, networking, and modern software engineering practices.
Interest in industrial automation, machine communication, robotics, hardware-integrated systems, and multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Desire to continuously learn new technologies and engineering practices, with the ability to mentor or provide technical guidance considered an asset for senior-level candidates.
Exposure to or experience building modern applications using technologies such as C#/.NET, Blazor, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms, or similar software stacks.
Experience with technical projects involving PLCs, HMIs, robotics, embedded systems, machine communications, industrial networking, OPC UA, IoT devices, or related automation technologies.
Familiarity with concepts such as Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, event-driven systems, DevOps practices, SignalR, WebSockets, asynchronous programming, distributed systems, or comparable communication technologies.
Exposure to manufacturing environments, automation systems, industrial software, AI-assisted development tools, data-driven applications, or other technology-driven engineering environments.
