About The Job Fresh Market Foods is seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker (NOC 63202) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of fresh, high-quality baked goods made in-store daily. Responsibilities

- Prepare doughs and batters for bread, buns, pastries, cookies, and cakes following standardized recipes.
- Bake a variety of products, including signature breads and seasonal baked goods, ensuring consistency
- and quality.
- Frost, decorate, and finish cakes and pastries according to company standards and customer requests.
- Follow daily production schedules to ensure adequate product availability while minimizing waste.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, proofers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices, and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
- Assist with merchandising, displays, and product promotions to support bakery sales.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and offering product recommendations.
- Adhere to food safety standards and safe food handling practices.
- Support team members and perform additional bakery or store duties as required.

Qualifications And Skills

- Completion of secondary school is preferred; a combination of education and relevant commercial baking experience may be considered.
- Minimum 1 years of commercial baking experience required; 2 years preferred.
- Experience in a commercial bakery,



grocery store bakery, restaurant, or similar food production environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards is an asset.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Language of Work : Proficiency in English required; French is considered an asset. Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-time (40 hours/week)

Location of Work: 79 Queen Street; Sioux Lookout, ON P8T 1A1

Wage/Salary: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Transportation: Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost for the successful candidate to our location and back to their permanent residence at the end of the work period. (This does not include the cost for a full trailer move (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings etc.).

Housing: Below-market value employee housing may be available, subject to availability.
