The Senior Manager, Business Development role supports the growth and enterprise integration of Walmart Canada’s Financial Services business by connecting strategy, partners, brand priorities, and execution across the organization. This role acts as a key connector across Marketing, Store Operations, Finance, Walmart Connect, Product, Technology, and external partners to turn business opportunities into clear plans, strong business cases, and coordinated execution.
Business
Management ~ Provide business management support across the Financial Services team. ~ Develop and support the Financial Services brand strategy across customer touchpoints. ~Marketing Partner Leadership ~ Lead Financial Services engagement with Marketing on campaign planning, briefs, priorities, and performance. ~Store Operations Leadership ~ Serve as the key Financial Services partner to Store Operations for in-store execution. ~Finance Key Partner ~ Partner with Finance on planning, forecasting, reporting, and business case development. ~New Business and Special Projects ~ Lead and support new business opportunities, special projects, and strategic initiatives. ~Product Management and Technology Partnership ~ Partner with Product and Technology teams on digital, operational, and platform enablement. ~ Translate business needs into priorities, requirements, use cases, and customer journeys. ~Lead or support Long Range Planning (LRP) and Annual Plan (AOP), business reviews, and executive updates for Financial Services. ~ Build concise, data-driven presentations, strategic narratives, and decision materials. Drives business growth by developing and maintaining internal and external business relationships; understanding and managing the mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits; and supporting engagement and dialogue with stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues,
and realize value proposition and subsequent business objectives Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly
- Influences and drives the overall sales strategy to ensure highest valuation by directing sales and the management of key accounts; managing outside purchases needed to meet specifications and procurement guidelines
- Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations
- Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
Business
Development, Strategic Partnership, Sales Strategy, Business Objectives, Account Management End-to-end management of the sales cycle and legal contracts with internal stakeholders ensures favorable terms aligning with company objectives. Regular sales reports and performance metrics are managed, along with addressing operational questions. Strategic relationships with external partners are fostered, and their performance is managed against established KPIs.
The role provides strategic leadership by creating roadmaps focused on service development and leading discussions on long-range plans for growth.
